Narrows 11U Wins Lee Johnson Firecracker Tournament

The 11U Narrows Baseball Club 11U completed a five-game sweep in just 24 hours to win the Lee Johnson Firecracker July 4 th Tournament. The boys started their weekend by coming back from a 3-0 first inning deficit versus the JBA Cubs. Miller Tolman pitched in relief to earn the win while Hunter Ramos and Brandon Cohen combined to drive infive runs in the 9-5 comeback win. In the second game of the tournament,

Charlie Reanier led Narrows by pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings and helping his own cause with two hits. Parker Holmes, who played stellar shortstop all weekend, led the team with three hits and Jordan Oakes came off the bench despite an injury to pick up a key hit in the win.

Bracket play on Sunday morning began with a rematch against Driveline. Tait Outhwaite started on the mound for Narrows and pitched three solid innings, allowing only one run. He also picked up one of his six hits of the weekend and scored two runs. Deke Olsen, who pitched in three games over the weekend closed the game out with 2 scoreless innings.

In the semifinal, Narrows again played the JBA Cubs. The game was highlighted by in the park homeruns from Carson Barabe and Henry Dahlgren that broke the game open. Cole Hoggatt, who caught three
games over the weekend stomped out a JBA rally by throwing out a runner attempting to steal third to help seal the victory.

The championship game against Rock Creek quickly became a rout as Narrows came out swinging, scoring ten runs in the first inning on their way to a 12-1 victory. AJ Maxion led the charge with three RBI. The weekend was a complete team effort as the team hit .422 in the five games while outscoring their opponents 53-10. Congratulations to Brandon Cohen for winning MVP of the tournament.
